Schamburg+Alvisse seating is independently certified by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) and deemed “environmentally innovative” by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). Eco Certification distinguishes genuine eco-furniture from the “green-washing” that exists in a competitive market.

GECA and FSC certification confirms Schamburg+Alvisse compliance with GECA’s “Furniture & Fittings Standard” that protects :  

• consumers and workers from a range of hazardous chemicals.
• forests from illegal logging practices and deforestation.
• workers from exploitation and unsafe work practices.

Our GECA certification* scores you 100% Green Star points in the GBCA “chairs” calculator

*FABRIC requirement for GECA certification (upholstered products only):  

• GECA certification requires products to be upholstered in fabrics certified by GECA, Nordic Swan, EU Flower.
• The GBCA may still allow products upholstered in uncertified fabrics to achieve 100% points in the Green Star Calculator (please qualify this in each case with the GBCA) where the base product is GECA rated and the additional uncertified fabric makes up less than 10% of the total product mass when upholstered.
